I purchased my first rectangular CSA belt buckle in 1959.  It was an Atlanta Arsenal style and cost only $10.00.  Today, I still buy rectangular CSA plates, now only the price is closer to $3,000.00.  It is safe to assume that in the future the demand for Confederate plates will steadily increase while the supply further diminishes--resulting in a continuous rise in value.  Of course, this same price inflation affects all varieties of CS plates to one degree or another.
A potential "fly in the ointment" is the proliferation of legitimate reproductions and outright fakes which endanger the entire collecting fraternity.  Knowledge is the only defense.
I've spent the last 45 years collecting Civil War artifacts and relic hunting the old camps of the Blue and Gray.
